Why me?

There are many coaches out there. I bring rare depth and breadth to my coaching practice.

Jess, founder of Self and System

Since 2010, I’ve clocked up hundreds of hours coaching mid-level and C-suite leaders one-to-one, and thousands more (the current tally is 6500) facilitating leadership development and communication skills programmes for teams and groups. So, I’ve seen the many obstacles – personal and systemic – leaders face, and I know they can be navigated, I’ve seen it. I meet you with this experience, alongside non-judgement, warmth and incisiveness.

I’m accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ACC and ACTC—one of only 50 people in the UK to hold the team coaching credential), with training in Systemic Coaching, Gestalt, Non-Violent Communication and Integrative Psychotherapy. I’ve worked in all sectors, with clients from investment banks to telecoms, non-profits to academia—including BT, Channel 4, The Guardian, Syngenta, and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine amongst many others. I intentionally don’t specialise in a single market; regardless of the sector you are in, I can safely say the relational challenge you are facing is normal!

My original background as an actress and work in theatre adds an additional dimension to how I understand showing up in front of others and the many layers of relational dynamics. How do you typically show up? Are you aware of your patterns? Noticing them is the first step to accessing the many other choices you can make. You are more than your habitual tendencies.

How do you typically show up? Are you aware of your patterns?

I truly believe in the power of coaching to expand a leader’s—and a team’s—sense of self. I work with leaders who care about making a lasting impact and want to – I say deserve to! – fully realise their potential. It’s not easy to do this alone, especially under the pressures of organisational life and with a senior title. I walk alongside you, asking the questions you might be avoiding and reflecting the strengths and qualities that have brought you this far. From there, you’re freer to explore: where do I want to go next?

Jess was outstanding. A real professional coach who knows how to unleash the best from a team of academics and practitioners. We really saw the value and the dedication. Beautiful work.
